Lyrical monster, martial arts, chess and Gang Starr Foundation should describe Afu-Ra in a well mannered sense. After first appearing on Jeru Da Damaja (I will do a post on Jeru in the nearest future) two first albums (The Sun Rises in the East & Wrath of the Math) on the tracks Mental Stamina and Physical Stamina, Afu-Ra released his debut single ‘”Whirlwind Thru Cities” in 1998. After the second single, “Defeat”, in 1999, he finally released his debut album Body of the Life Force in 2000. In 2002 the “Life Force Radio” record was released. Three years later, after a compilation album (I see no reason to share this), he finally released his third record “State of the Arts”. Trough the years, Afu-Ra has proved that he deserves his place in this ugly world of hip-hop, working with class A artist and beatmakers like; Dj Premier, Royce Da 5’9, Jeru Da Damaja, Guru, Big Daddy Kane and many more. Afu-Ra was expected to release an album in 2007, we’ll just have to wait and see.
